St. Mark's Church Council

Transforming vision into action through church ministry

Church Council is the administrative body of the church.  They are responsible for ensuring the church is operating with a shared vision and mission, and that we are involved in ministries relevant to furthering that vision.

Voting members consist of the chair or head of the church's various committees and commissions, together with the church's lay leader. Members of the church's clergy also attend meetings and participate in discussions but do not vote. Church Council meets the first Wednesday of each month in Room E-26 (Fireside Room), from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Meetings are open to anyone, and anyone who wishes to present an item to Church Council may make a request of the Chair for time on the agenda.

The focus of Church Council meetings varies. Every other month the focus is on Personnel, Finance and Trustees issues. In alternate months, the focus is on the ministries of the church. The latter meetings are called Council on Ministry meetings and are chaired by Boni Fields.
