Jesus Seminar

Jesus Seminar Discussion Group is an ongoing class, which focuses on the growing literature put forward by the Jesus Seminar and the various individual books of the fellows and other participants. Starting September 12, the class will read and discuss Lloyd Geering’s new book Such is Life – an imaginative dialogue with Ecclesiastes.

Geering has brought Ecclesiastes to life by ingeniously composing imaginative dialogues with the sage, which shows that he was a free-thinker, a humanist, and an existentialist. The role of the sage, as Ecclesiastes saw it, was not to pass on gems of eternal wisdom, but to goad us into thinking things out for ourselves in our search for meaning in life. The class meets Sunday mornings at 11:00am in Room E-25, facilitated by Don Duncan.
