Neighborhood Accountability Board

The fourteen Neighborhood Accountability Boards (NAB), staffed by over 250 volunteers, conduct hearing panels for first time offenders who have been charged with non-violent misdemeanor offenses. The goal of NAB is to empower the community to hold youth responsible for their actions by members of their own neighborhood. Neighborhood Accountability Boards enter into a six-month contract with the youth, which typically includes community service and victim restitution. Probation provides oversight, support and training for the NAB program and volunteers.

The governing board of this organization meets regularly at St. Mark's.  Hearings for the juveniles in the program are also on campus.  Some of these youth complete their community service here at St. Mark's.  Click here for more information.
