Sargent Wright
Chaplain
Rev. Sargent Wright (Sarge) is originally from Northern Illinois and Iowa and ministered as a US Navy Chaplain, serving in both WW2 and Korea.
Besides Sarge's liberal knowledge obtained through life he also graduated from the University of Dubuque, Iowa, majoring in Psychology and Music. Earned Master's in Divinity from Garrett School of Theology in Evanston, Illinois. Spent one year in pre Ph. D field of theology at University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Received Doctor of Ministry degree from Claremont School of Religion in Claremont, CA. Summer courses in Communication, Sexuality, Marriage Enrichment from USC, Los Angeles.
A retired Licensed Psychotherapist, he served churches in Chicago, San Jose, Lafayette, Fresno and Auburn plus 9 Interim Pastorates since his retirement. He has been a Hospice chaplain at Roseville Hospital and a Spiritual Advisor to Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous. As St. Mark's Chaplain he responds to the needs of patients in hospitals and care centers and, with other ministry staff, to those experiencing grief over the death of a loved one.
