Committee On Lay Leadership

 

The Committee on Lay Leadership is responsible for the following:

• Developing leadership
• Deploying leadership
• Evaluating leadership
• Monitoring spiritual growth
• Bringing suggestions of people who might lead various ministries
• Provide Leadership training for the congregation
• Monitoring and Evaluating congregational needs for leadership

What is a Lay Leader?  A Lay Leader has the distinct responsibility for being an:

• Advocate by representing the laity in the congregation and the reputation of the church in the community at large

• Being a model of faithful and responsible discipleship by being a model of good habits of personal devotion and discipleship

• Building awareness of the role of laity within the congregation by encouraging them to use their gifts and talents to participate in leading the ministries of the congregation

• Recognize and celebrate all the ministry of laity within our community

• Meet and consult with the pastor regularly to discuss the state of the congregation and needs for ministry

• Serve on various committees: Charge Conference, Church Council, Council on Ministries, Finance, Lay Leadership Committee, and Staff-Parish Relations Committee
