Lori White

Office Assistant

Lori is a native Californian born in Yreka, a small town up in the northern part of the state. Her grandfather was a Methodist minister and all her life, her family was involved in the Methodist church in every community in which they lived.

These communities including Yreka, Fairfield, Paradise and finally Sacramento, moving here between her 6th and 7th grades.  She was in the first graduating class of Rio Americano High School and attended Sacramento State College receiving her B.S. in Nursing in 1971. She met her future husband John at St. Mark's in 1968 working at a "teen center" in Fellowship Hall for the neighborhood youth. They were then married here in 1969 by Rev. Robert Moon.

She did some nursing work in local doctor's offices before raising her son Matthew born in 1976. In the early 70's, she volunteered as the coordinator for all office volunteer jobs such as the Markings crew, phone coverage during vacations, putting together large mailings, etc., which she did for over 15 years. Finally in 1994 she started working part-time in the church office and has enjoyed being a part of the great St. Mark's staff ever since.
