Sacramento Pride
Infusing faith into celebratory festivities

GLBTI and straight alliance members from St. Mark’s participate in Sacramento’s annual Pride celebration, both at the parade and festival.  Church leaders and church attendees are committed to demonstrate to the GLBTI and Sacramento communities that St. Mark’s is an open and welcoming Christian community for ALL people.

A growing contingent of affirming interfaith groups participate in the parade from churches all over the Sacramento area.  Those interested in joining the St. Mark’s/Interfaith Coalition can meet on the parade day on 3rd Street between Capitol Mall and N Street.  Here are the details of this year’s event:

  • Pride Parade and Festival Date:  Sunday, June 6.
  • Parade kick off:  11:00am, be there by 10:45am if you wish to march with us!
  • Parade route:  On N Street from 3rd Street to 10th Street.

St. Mark’s also hosts an outreach booth at the festival to demonstrate that there are Christians who love and accept the GLBTI community as they are and welcome them into God’s family with arms open wide.  It’s an event for which St. Mark’s plans for months in advance and looks forward to each year.  Stop by the booth at the festival between 11:00am and 5:00pm to encourage those who are serving there!
